My client is a specialist Real Estate Private Equity firm who have significant capital to deploy into the Pan-European logistics market. Due to an increase in deal flow and pipeline, the team are now looking to hire a Vice President / Director to assist with acquisitions for a new Value Add fund. The role will offer an excellent opportunity to grow/and to take on high levels of responsibility.

The role will be based in London but may require occasional travel within Europe.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work closely with senior leadership to lead the assessment of potential investments, land acquisitions and developments
  • Full “cradle to grave” responsibility on acquisition and disposition
  • Sourcing investments with a primary focus on the company’s main markets through creative use of agents and brokers, as well as non-conventional sources like local authorities, private families, lawyers, banks, other developers (undercapitalised) etc.
  • Interacting with investors both existing and prospective (for e.g., explaining investment rationale)
  • Critically evaluating opportunities from both a macro and micro perspective in order to derive the best relative risk-adjusted returns, making the case for transactions both internally and externally
  • Support and review financial analysis by Analysts/Senior Analysts/Associates and provide feedback on business plans, return metrics and a risk adjusted approach to underwriting.
  • Conduct data integrity checks of cash flow models to ensure accuracy of projections and consistency in underwriting.
  • Performing due diligence on approved transactions, management of teams of professionals including architects, cost consultants, marketing/PR, agents
  • Helping to manage debt sourcing for assets (if required).

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong transactional experience, with exposure to UK and/or European commercial Logistics & Industrial real estate
  • Top in their field analytical thinking, with the demonstrable ability to quickly see through complex and often conflicting facts to distil problem down to their essential, critical elements
  • An appreciation of the macro and microeconomic factors that affect real estate investments
  • Exceptional technical skills a given, and excellent English (other European languages an advantage)
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience as an Associate/VP/Principal prior (real estate, investment banking, investment)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills as demonstrated through excellence in academic qualifications
