Rockbourne are delighted to be partnered with a leading independent Pan-European asset management company. Our clients existing real estate footprint covers the US, UK, France and Germany with plans to further expand into the Netherlands and the Nordics. They target to deliver a broad range of returns ranging from Core/Core+ to value-add and are capital allocators across multiple sectors including residential, offices and logistics.

Due to an increase in deal flow pipeline and preparing for the next stage of an exciting growth trajectory, the team are now actively looking to hire an investment analyst to assist with acquisitions/disposals and asset management of their European Real Estate portfolio. The role will offer an excellent opportunity to grow/and will enable you to take on relatively high levels of responsibility within a very flat structure.

The role will be based in London and may require occasional travel within Europe to the subject sites and development projects.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work closely with Directors and Principals to lead the assessment of potential investments, land acquisitions, developments or asset management initiatives
  • Perform complex and dynamic financial modelling and analysis for investment, development and asset management opportunities
  • Conduct research on selected property sectors and geographies, delivering quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Prepare business plans and investment memorandums for new acquisitions, and present to management
  • Draft reports to the company’s Board, Investors, Lenders and JV Partners
  • Assist in due diligence meetings with management and external advisors
  • Perform internal asset management reporting tasks including updating business plans (budget vs forecast), working closely with property managers/asset managers/operating partners, helping to execute existing business plans and monitor budgets
  • Monitor portfolio performance, assisting in operational and strategic reviews. Highlight recommended investments, divestments, asset management initiatives, capex and diversification opportunities
  • Management of offshore administrators
  • Helping to manage debt sourcing for assets (if required), be involved in debt due diligence and negotiations
  • Ensure efficient and accurate tracking of deal pipeline and strive for best practice and improvements in way of working.
  • Be a player/coach to support others to understand and use the investment models/business tools.
  • Become a student of the industry; ensure macro/microdata is kept up to date on an ongoing basis to support underwriting activities and broaden market knowledge.
  • Broad role will be split between acquisitions, asset management and operations so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to multitask

Skill and Experience:

  • Existing transactional and asset management experience, with exposure to UK and/or European commercial real estate markets
  • Strong financial modelling – manipulation of existing templates as well as ad hoc analysis
  • Strong numerical background with excellent analytical thinking, with the demonstrable ability to quickly see through complex and often conflicting facts to distil problems down to their essential elements
  • A perfectionist’s eye for detail and the ability to check operating partner’s work/output before presenting internally
  • A willingness to work in a self-directed way at times, but at equally able to excel collaboratively
  • Language: Fluent English with other European languages preferred (French or German)
  • 1-3 years relevant experience as an Analyst prior (real estate, investment banking, investment management, corporate finance, valuation)
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
  • Ability to work under a tight deadline and manage multiple workstreams/projects simultaneously, self-starter with strong communication skills
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and within a small, entrepreneurial team
